Operation Blue and White still in progress

As you all know, I am obsessed with turning our bedroom into a blue and white dream where Greek villa meets ryad and Santorini meets Chefchaouen. I may not be in front of the beach, but I know that these colors at least can make me dream a bit while our light, white curtains blow in the summer breeze. I am still on a mission...

In the past few days, I have been searching for inspiration, while painting whatever I can white and looking for other things to turn blue. But for now, I wanna just post these images that are sure to make you dream.

to be continued...

Papa's day celebration!

I am glad we live in Southern California. There is just so much around us, for every person, for every taste, and for every budget! For Father's Day, we wanted to take my dad out for breakfast, but we are newlyweds on a tight budget with much love to give, but very little to spend. So what did we do?
Glad you asked!

There is a wonderful hidden golf club called Angeles National located off the 210 freeway in Sunland. The moment you arrive, you feel like you stepped out of the hustle and bustle of crazy L.A and entered a mini vacation. The surroundings are green, mountainous, and delightfully soothing. With a Mediterranean feel, a gorgeous panoramic view of the Angeles National forest, and a lovely lake , you can't go wrong here! You might catch rabbits and other little critters running around while you are enjoying your CHEAP breakfast. Did I say cheap? I sure did...

Most of my family lives about 5 minutes away from there, and had driven by it numerous times. From the outside, it looks like a totally private golf or country club. I never even thought of going in there before until a friend of mine introduced us to that gem-of-a-place! I was impressed. And we sure did impress dad that morning. Also, I totally recommend the breakfast. You will not spend more than $10 bucks on a plate. They have a great breakfast special under $8 that will stuff you, and the huevos rancheros are fab!

love the tiles!!!

The other great thing is, nobody knows about it, so it's usually quiet and you don't have to wait half hour to be seated! Once in a while, you might see large groups, but seldom. So, if you live in the Southern Cali area and you either feel like having a nice breakfast some place that feels far from city life OR you want to impress someone for little money, go here! (By the way, they do weddings here!!!)
