As I mentioned before, I don't really follow trends. Not because I am trying to be a rebel, but just because 1) not all trends look great on me, and 2) trends will go away and one is stuck with a closet full of trendy clothes that won't be "stylish" and trendy anymore. I rather have my own personal style that will last as long as my clothes will and I don't have to worry about whether I am "in style" or not. And so my personal style, since I can remember, has been a global nomad one for various reasons. For one, I love collecting pieces from all over the world and also, I just love prints from all over the world!
Having said this, there are times that the stuff I would wear anyway and that I like, happen to be trendy, and if that's the case, cool. This Fall, I've noticed that there is a big global nomad trend and that there are several things I really dig; Good for me because that means I can actually find stuff I like in stores. But also, the funny thing is that a lot of these trends have been trends before, so I still have a lot of those things in my closet from years past. Cool or what? Perhaps the colors might have changed a bit or maybe it varies a little, but who cares!
So what are some trends that I like this Fall?
#1- the Poncho.
I've seen this photo flowing around (so you are going to have to forgive me...I have no idea where it came from!) and I absolutely was obsessed with it. (Check out my 'poncho obsession' post). And by the way, I said I'd make one and show you the final results, but my hubby bought me one, so I didn't have to make one!
#2- Hats! (Specifically fur ones!)

I LOVE fur hats! It's so...Russia...Dr. Zhivago! Okay, I admit, I feel a bit silly walking down the street with one living in L.A. I mean, when do we really need a fur hat here? Either way, I got one a couples years ago, so just in case, I've got one!
#3- Fur.

#4- Eastern Influence
I've always liked it, so I guess I'm automatically in style now! Sari fabrics, obi belts, kimonos, embroidery...hello?
