What kind you ask? You know, the kind in which you feel creatively barren and your imagination is pretty dry. Actually, I've been feeling like this for a while. And maybe it's not so much that I lack creativity, but that I lack motivation and inspiration.
It got me thinking, "what inspires me? what were the most creative times in my life?" Going through some blogs of various artists was very inspirational this week for me. It reminded me of those times in which I felt the most creative and inspired. I realized that one of those times was when I was living in Spain and in France. I was always surrounded by tons of creative people, many from all over the world and therefore tons of "newness". Being in this environment got my creative juices flowing since being around fresh ideas stimulates the mind. I miss that. I feel like I am in a place where I need this again! I lack inspiration and motivation. I need creative stimuli, new muses!!! And since I do not live abroad anymore, I have to find a new way in which to expose my creative mind and imagination to new things, finding inspiration in my surroundings, and trying to find beauty in the norm since it is so easy to get bored and discontent. Humans always think there is more on the other side of the fence...or how you say...the grass is greener...???
I find that today, through the internet, one can find so much inspiration from literally all over the world with a click of a button. Cool huh? For instance, there's Pinterest....which I cannot get enough of!
So, what inspires me? New surroundings, creative people, art, music, writing, reading, drawing, photography...What motivates me? Creative people, their stories, their art...etc...
